Carolyn has been an educator for the last 25 years at the high school, university and professional level. She served as Fine Arts Department Chair and Theater Director for 16 years at the high school level where she also taught Choir, AP Music Theory and Theatre. At the university level, she served in positions such as Music Admissions Coordinator for Saint Xavier University, also directing their University Chorale, teaching Vocal Technique, and Voice. Carolyn taught Musicianship Lab and Voice in the music department at Loyola University and Voice, Music Theory, and served as Music Director for several productions for the Theater Conservatory in the College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Now Carolyn enjoys a career of helping actors prepare for professional roles and music directs in regional and local theaters throughout the Chicago area. She is a proud member of Chicago Federation of Musicians.
Each coaching package consists of five separate one hour coaching sessions and two thirty minute meetings for planning, timelines, and any paperwork applicable to the individuals’ application requirements. Customized digital files for rehearsal & self-taping of your audition cuts and a personalized list of recommended audition material to consider are provided during the process. Any of these sessions can be in person downtown at 410 South Michigan Ave, Chicago in her studio in the Fine Arts Building or done virtually via Zoom. These appointments are scheduled based on mutual availability of the applicant and instructor. Instruction will take place over the months of July August and September 2024. Registration closes July 14 and limited spaces are remaining.
